THE NATHAN TROUPE.
LA PETITE MARIOy. Last evening the youngest member of the Nathan troupe took her benefit, and without "any disparagement to the other members of this really clever famdy, we must say that Mari.m is a long way the best. Who does not remember poor G. V. Brooke in his ever memorable character of O'Callaghanin"His Last Legs," or Hudson, in the same character; but if they want to see Or. V in miniature let them go and see this wonderful impersonation by this child —we say wonderful, for it is a piece that requires all the byeplay of a finished actor. Marion not only speaks the part but acts it. The mesmeric scene was a rich piece of acting; and the manner in which O'Callaghan humbugs the others was a fine scene. We have seen other precocious children the G-rossmith, young Boscius, and the celebrated Bateman family, but for broad comedy acting none have been able to approach this child Marion, who has all the verve of an older actor. She was success, and to crown all, her imitation of Small's " Unfortunate Man " was perfect and all but brought down the house. Then followed the Chinese burlesque of " Cododad," in which she and Selina divided the honors. Take it altogether a more enjoyable evening has seldom been spent, and if Marion only continues as she has commenced —as a broad comedy actor—she will be unsurpassed, especially in such a role as that followed by Miss Woolgar.
