The paddle-steamer Nelson sailed for Nelson direct, with five saloon passengers on board, and with a large shipment of gold belonging to the Union Bank. She left Ilokitika on Wednesday, cdled at the Grey, landing passengers and cargo, and reached our port, early yesterday morning. The steamship Waipara returned from the Mokihimii yesterday, bringing with her some surplus stock of the township. The schooner Essorfc is rapidly discharging, and as will be seen by advertisement, is laid on for Ni wcastle direct. For the Maryborough Diggings the Sarah and Mary, Messrs Spenee Bros., agents ; and the Jane Lockhart, Mr W. S. Lockhart, are advertised to leave llokitika shortly. The Kennedy with the Nelson files to the 18th arrived at 8 p.m. yesterday. She brings a general cargo and a few saloon and steerage passengii-j. The run was made in the usual time.
