TO THE ELECTORS OP THE BULLER DISTRICT. nENTLMEN, I have been reV quested by a number of the inhabitants who have promised me their support to come forward as a candidate for the representation of this district in the Provincial Council, and therefore I have resolved to solicit your suffrages, more encouraged to this course through believing as I do that as yet no candidate likely to meet your approval has declared himself. All that I possess on the coast is centred in Westport, and it is therefore clear that my interests must be identical with those of the residents on the Buller district, to represent which I now aspire. As to my capacity you are the best judges, and as to whether my opinions are such as to meet your views I cannot say, but this I can promise at all events if you honor me with your confidence, I will, to the best of my ability, discharge the duties of your representative honestly, faithfully, and independently. GENTLEMEN—After the nume. rous signed Requisition I shall allow myself to be nominated as a Candidate for your suffrages in the Provincial Council. My opinions are limited. It is no good saying I will do this or that, I simply say I will do my best to forward the interests of the district should I be elected. On the 24th instant, at 8 p.m., I shall be happy to meet the Electors of Westport at the G. Y. BEOOKE HOTEL.
