WEDDING
DASSLER —DENBEE. Tlie marriage took place on Saturday at St. Matthew ’s Church of Mary Elia (Molly), younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs T. T. Denbee, Renall Street, Masterton, to Gordon R-oland, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Dassler, Te Uri, Ormondville. The service, which was fully choral, was conducted by the Rev. E. J. Rich. The church, was decorated with hydrangeas in pastel' shades by friends of the bride. During the service, a solo was rendered by Mr. William C. Mann, who sang Schubert's “Serenade." The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of honey-tint-ed satin, cut on classical lines with a long train from the waist and a high neckline, finished with orange blossoms on the shoulders. The heavily embroidered veil of the same shade was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom buds. Her shower bouquet was of lilies and carnations. The frock was the work of the bride’s mother.
As the bride left the church, little Sally Mann, presented her with a gold horseshoe.
The four bridesmaids, Misses Thelma Denbee (sister of the bride), Myrtle Dassler (sister of the bridegroom), Ruth McNair Miller, of Hastings, and Joy Yortt, of Dannevirke, were dressed alike in frocks of heavy gold satin, tight to the knees, then flared to form a slight train. Over these were worn coatees of the same material, with medici collars, puffed sleeves and basques and finished with gold satin buttons. They wore sprays of small roses in their hair and carried bouquets to tone.
Mr. Y. Williams, of Whetukura, was best man, and the groomsmen were Messrs T. Denbee (brother of the bride), Masterton, G. Chesterman, Tikokino, and T. Castles, of Whetukura.
The reception was held at the Hotel Midland. ' The bride’s mother wore a frock of brown lace over the same hade of taffeta, with a hat to tone and carried a bouquet of gold tonings. The bridegroom’s mother was dressed in navy georgette and lace and her bouquet toned with her frock. She w T ore a hat of the same shade. Mr. and Mrs G. R. Dassler left for the North, the bride travelling in a frock of coronation and gold wool georgette over which was worn a short brown coat, with shoes, gloves, hat and bag to tone. -
