GREYTOWN FIRE

FORESTERS’ ARMS HOTEL. UPSTAIRS PORTION DAMAGED. CARTERTON, This Day. A fire about teu this morning broke out in the Foresters’ Arms Hotel at Greytown. Fortunately, it was discovered in time, and the brigade were able to subdue the outbreak, which took .place upstairs in a bedroom. The brigade was delayed in its arrival by. the failure of the alarm bell to operate, but on arrival did excellent work, confining the actual fire damage to upstairs. All the ground floor was drenched with water, though it is reported that the liquor stocks are intact. —(P.A.)
