BAER WINS BET
OH BIRTH OF CHILD. OAKLAND (California), Monday. Max Baer has become the father of a son, thereby -winning a thousand dob iars from Jack Dempsey, who wagered that the. child would be a girl. Baer, who was highly nervous, hinted that he was attempting a comeback against the winner of the Braddock-Farr match in February. “I have something to fight for now,’’ he said. “I never thought papa was such a swell word before.” The child is being named Max Baer, Junr.
