MASTERTON CLUB. ANNUAL REPORT. The folloAving is the annual report of the Masterton Amateur Athletic Club to be presented at the annual meeting this evening:—“The conclusion of the season reveals a faA 7 ourable position, although perhaps not quite as good as the club had Avished. When the operations for the season closed the club Avas approximately £5 better off than at the commencement. Owing to the preA T alence of an epidemic of infantile paralysis, the club abandoned the Annhversary Day meeting on the adA'ice of the Health Department. The triangular contest AA’as this year held in Masterton on 13th March. In the first instance the meeting was scheduled for 13tli February but unfortunately the Aveather did not permit the sports to be held. This postponement probably partially attributed to the £lO loss, Avhieli Ave shoAved on this fixture. Our club Avas fortunate enough to retain the banner by a substantial margin of points. Thanks are due to all avlio kindly rendered assistance and to those Avho generously donated trophies for competition at the triangular contest meeting. On 27th February the club successfully retained the MeVilly Country Club Shield, which was competed for by country clubs at the Wellington Provincial Championship meeting held on the Basin Reserve, Wellington. In conclusion the club Avislies to express thanks to all who gave their support during the season and hopes it will be reneAved during the forthcoming season.”
