FAMOUS IN BRITAIN VALUE OF ADVERTISING. {*l6Bß Association Electric Telesranh— Copyright (Received Thursday, 10.9 a.m.) LONDON, Wednesday. The National Federation of Meat Traders is so impressed by the success of New Zealand’s advertising that it has decided to support a similar campaign as soon as arrangements can be made. All engaged in the production and marketing of meat will contribute. Mr H. W. Rymill, introducing a resolution at the annual conference, declared that advertising had made New Zealand lamb so famous that it now was regarded in millions of homes as the finest type of imported lamb. He suggested that £IOO,OOO should b.e spent over a period of years, as a minimum, to show a reasonable return. The money should be raised by voluntary levy. . The President of the Association estimated the cost to members at lOd for every £IOO worth of meat sold. Mr F. Toup, a London delegate, opposing the plan, declared that meat producing countries would, not be able to meet the extra demand which he estimated at 4,000,000 quarters of beef and 10,000,000 lambs. The resolution was carried by a large, majority.
