STATE THEATRE
TWO BIG ATTRACTIONS. Two attractions are included in the programme showing at the State Theatre to-night at 8. “North of the Rio Grande ’ ’ is concerned with a surprise raid on a band of bandits. “Hop-a----long" Cassidy's younger brother, a member of a posse, is “accidentally" shot by Deputy Sheriff Plunkett. Plunkett’s explanation does not satisfy “Lucky" Jenkins, leader of the posse and despite the fact that Plunkett is vindicated at the inquest held in Cottonwood Gulch, he decided to investigate. The second feature is a new murder story, Paramount's “Night of Mystery," It successfully introduces a new Philo Vance and Sergeant Heath in the persons of Grant Richards and Roscoe Earns. Thrown into the midst of a series of murders that threatens to extinguish a whole family forced to live in a mysterious mansion, Vance unearths clue after clue that leads up a blind alley. He finds pitted against his coldly scientific methods of crime detection a maniacal strength that elude each trap. Reserves at F. J. Adcock's 'phone 1275.
