HARRIERS

MASTERTON CLUB. CAMERON OUP HANDICAPS. The following are the handicaps for the final race of the 1937 season, to be held by 'the Masterton Harrier Club. This race is an open handicap for the Cameron Cup, donated each year by Mr I. D. Cameron. This season there are seven runners eligible for this much-coveted trophy, namely, C. K. Long, R. Warham, J. Kennedy, A. Spioer, R. Gully, J. Liddall and J. J. Baikie. The first home in Saturday’s race takes the Cameron Cup, and the second a cup for runner-up. There are also trophies donated for the first three places in the open handicap, the winner and runner-up in the Cameron Cup not being eligible' for these. G. Gregory, scr.; R. Shaw, 33sec.; G. The above race will start at 2.30 sharp. At 2.15 a teams’ race will take place between six juniors of the club and six juniors from Kopuaranga, the first four of each team to count. Trophies will be donated by the club to the winning team. •

At the conclusion of 'the race for the day the presentation of trophies and prizes will take place at the Masonic Hall, where the ladies’ committee ofthe club will serve afternoon tea.

In the evening a wind-up dance will be held in the Masonic Hall, when music will be supplied by Pool’s “Blue River” Orchestra, and Mr J. J. Hunter will carry out the duties of M.C. Several novelty dances will be held.
