On the No. A grass track, which was fast, Mr A. E. Cooper’s pair, Talking and Mala, monopolised attention at Kandwick this morning. Talking ran 7 furlongs in 1.27, and greatly impressed, but the value of th<? gallop was reduced by the times of the other horses who galloped later. Mala, ridden by M. MeCarten, ran a mile in 1.40, which the 'Lackham horse covered injjfctter style than Talking. The fast* six furlongs of the morning was registered by Gay Blonde and Tiirbijie, who covered the distance in Both were unshod. Disalto impressed by running six furlongs in 1.145. Hua was very sore prior to the commencement of a nine furlongs’ task, but finished well in 1.53, the last mile taking 1.405. Sal Volatile, who is regarded as an Epsom possibility, ran seven furlongs in 1.275. The Metropolitan lightweight candidate Fugitive beat Autoland over nine furlongs in 1.55. He finished strongly. The former New Zealander Rival Hit ran half a mile in 51f. He is settling well. Highborn beat Gilltown over a mile in 1.43, finishing determinedly. Gold Rod was given light work at Rosebery and satisfied his trainer., On the course proper at Victoria Park Brittle Prattle went exceptionally well over six furongs in 1.155. Ajax, with One, ran one mile and a quarter ii®!.6s. The gallop was rated very highty;
Avenger went a mile in 1.43 and could have done better, as he was not ridd-n light out.
