The Otago team to meet the Springboks on Saturday is as fellows: —Taylor, Werner, Park, Mahony, Trevathan, Murray, Simon, Quaid, Aney, McDonald, Parkhill, Mahony, Nelper, Niven, Green. —(P.A.) SPRINGBOKS V. SOUTHLAND. TO-DAY’S GAME. INVERCARGILL, Wednesday. Mitchell will not play against the Springboks to-morrow. He announced this decision to-night after receiving a telegram from Mr. E. McKenzie, chairman of the New Zealand Selection Committee, rvliom he had asked whether the selectors wanted him to play. Mitchell was advised not to play. It was also stated that Mitchell -would play in a club match at Auckland on September 18, a week before the third Test. Last Saturday Old Boys -were without the services "of two men and in order not to let his team ddwn, Mitchell played in the back row of the scrum. He had two runs during the match but did not attempt to go flat out. From those two runs two tries resulted. .At half-time Mitchell left the field but liis injured muscle was not affected by the forty minutes of play. The -weather changed this afternoon and some rain fell but unless more falls the ground will be in good order. There is a light wind to-night and the prospects of a fine day to-morrow are less promising.—(P.A.)

Stevens (St. Patrick’s), .J. O’Brien (St. Patrick’s), Harris (Lansdowne), Oliver (Te Ore Ore). The following boys have been chosen to play Whatman at the West School grounds on Saturday, September II at 1.30 p.m., as a curtainraiser to the Wellington Institute and Masterton Albion match: — Phillips, Gartner, Davey, F. O’Brien, Goodwin, Major, Millar, Row, Physiek, 0. Stevens, D. Wilson. Emergencies: W. Greenlees, Taplin, Hubbard.
