Dr. Von Koenigwald, head of the Geological Service of Netherlands Indies, •unearthed at Trinil a complete skull. of Pitheeantornpus Erectus, the ape-like of man, the discovery of a -'"portion of a skull of which, in 1891, also at Trinil, caused a sensation among scientists throughout the world.
