. EXORBITANT PRICES. FOR SPRINGBOK MATCHES. SOUTHLAND PROTEST. INVERCARGILL, This Day. A protest against what was termed, the exorbitant prices for admission to the Rugby matches with the . South. African team was made- by thoAiouthland Rugby Union last night. Members discussed the charges which had been fixed at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union, and it was decided to protest that the charges were excessive, and 1 ask that the New Zealand Union reconsider them with a view to having them reduced. Mr R. T. Meredith, who is.president of the New Zealand Union, said that he could give no idea how the prices were arrived at. They were introduced by the Management Committee at the annual meeting, aud about two delegates protested against them. “Apart from the 10s charge, I don’t think the other prices are excessive,” he added.
