The Central and Coastal District Council of the New South Wales Fruitgrowers Federation passed a resolution requesting the Federal Government to take immediate and decided steps towards a permanent agreement with New Zealand for at least a fair proportion of New Zealand’s citrus requirements, and recommending, in return that New Zealand be offered a share, by quota, of the Australian market for potatoes and apples, subject to rigorous examination and inspection, by both countries, of their respective imports and exports.
