BLIND INSTITUTE BAND
VISIT TO MASTERTON The Band and Concert Party of the New Zealand Institute for the Blind, which is giving a programme at Masterton on 21st October, is bound to attract, a big attendance, not only because of the great physical handicap so cheerfully and manfully overcome. Commenting on its performance the “Hawke’s Bay Herald,” said: “Nothing short of amazing. A first-rate entertainment worth much more than the very low price of admission. Every member is an artist. The whole of the performance would have done very high credit to seeing people.” The “Pahiatua Herald”: “That they are a brilliant set of concert performers, they very quickly proved. They amazed the most sanguine, and delighted all. Had the players not suffered the handicap of blindness, they could scarcely have done better.” The “Dannevirke Evening News”: “The absolute precision of their movements, their excellent timing and phrasing, the perfect control shown, made one realise the wonderful training they had undergone. Had all the players had their full sight, they could scarcely have acquitted themselves better.” The “Evening Post,” Wellington: “The concert was a revelation.” The “Waikato Times”: “The dance band of the company has the distinction of being one of the best bands of its type in Auckland, and judging by its performance last evening, one should have no cause to doubt this fact.”
