WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT ALFREDTON.

Mrs G. Napier presided over a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute.

The competition of spring flowers arranged in a quart preserving jar was won by Miss S. Napier, with Mrs G. Napier second and Miss B. Percy third.

The other competition was a-- two- 1 minute impromptu speech, which was won by Mrs T. Smith, with Mrs S. Raleigh second, It was decided to give £1 to, the proceeds of the Blind Concert, to be held in Eketahuna.

Mrs Fern gave a demonstration on rug-making. Members brought gifts to be sent to the lepers for Christmas. The hostesses were Mesda'mes S. Raleigh, Harmond and; Wallis.
