ROAD CLASSIFICATION

MAURICEVILLE COUNTY.

By advertisement in this issue, the? Main Highways Board draws attention to the fact that that portion of the Wellington-Napier via Wairarapa Main Highway within the Mauriceville County, which has previously been classified in Class 11., has now been reclassified in Class 111. The effect of this classification is to limit the permissible gross loading to 64 tons in the case of ordinary four-wheeled vehicles, and to 10 tons in the case of multi-axled vehicles of an approved type. Arrangements are being made for the early erection of signs on the highway indicating this classification, and any breach of the restriction will render the offender liable to prosecution.
