INTOXICATED MOTORISTS

MAGISTRATE’S WARNING. HASTINGS, Wednesday. ■ Mr J. Miller, S.M., in fining a motorist £ls and cancelling his license for 12 for being intoxicated while in of a motor vehicle, issued a that such offences, which had become too numerous in the Hastings district, had to stop or the court would be compelled to send offenders to gaol. There had been four convictions in a week, altogether too many for a district of the size. Fines apparently were not a sufficient deterrent, he added. —(P.A.)
