THE KING’S HOLIDAY
AT ANZAC COVE. (Received Friday, 11.5 a.m.) INSTANBUL, Thursday. Landing at Anzac Cove, the King was received by Mr Tasman Millington, an Australian who served as a private in the 26th Battalion, now curator of war graves and the only British subject on Anzac. It was the express wish of the King that Mr Millington should be there to meet him.
Mr Millington in a small car drove the King over thirty Avar cemeteries — Sir Fabian Ware said in London that the King was visiting Gallipoli carrying out his father’s Avish.
“Welcome E.R,” is the floodlit sign hanging betAveen two minarets,-in readiness for the King’s visit. Every town on the . European and Asiatic coasts of the Bosphorus is gaily decorated.
