LONG SERVICE RECOGNISED.

HOKITIKA, This Day.

A public gathering of citizens in the Town Hall last evening, the deputyMayor (Mr Leslie Michel) presiding, presented the Mayor of Hokitika, Mr Georg®llbert Perry, 0.8. E., with a handsome illuminated address, and a substantial piece of silver plate in recognition of his twenty-five years’ continuous service as Mayor of the Town. Yery complimentary references were made to his valued services to the town and district over a period of years. He is the first Hokitika-born mayor [of the town. —(P.A.)
