WAIRARAPA KENNEL CLUB

FIELD TRIALS. Some good performances were witnessed at the Wairarapa Kennel Club ’3 (gun dog section) field trials, which were held on Mr H. Nee’s property, Opaki Road, at the week-end. A general improvement was shown in the performances of the dogs both on land and in the water. The support of the public was, however, very disappointing. It is a great pity that more support is not forthcoming, as' seldom is the opportunity provided for the public to witness good gun dogs in action. The results are as follow: — Open land trial: R. V. Mason’s Labrador retriever, 1; W. D. Moroney’s Labrador retriever, 2; 11. Byrn’s ‘Gordon Setter, 3. Novice land trial: H. Byrn’s Gordon Setter, 1; C. Grey’s Labrador retriever, 2; W. D. Moroney’s Labrador retriever, 3. Open water trial: W. Harding’s Labrador retriever, 1; W. D. Moroney’s Labrador retriever, 2; R. V. Mason’s Labrador retriever, 3.
