SIR ANDREW RUSSELL PORTRAIT.
(The Editor.) Sir, —Would you be good enough to draw the attention of the many exmembers of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in and around this district to the fact that the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association has decided to have a portrait of MajorGeneral Sir Andrew Russell painted and hung in the National Art Gallery.
In order that every ex-service man may contribute, if he so desires, to the cost of the portrait, it has been decided to open a shilling fund, and donations may be left at the offices of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, Perry Street, Mastcrton. A list of all contributors, showing the amount of their donation, will be forwarded to Headquarters, New Zealand Returned Soldiers ’ Association. — I am., etc., Wairarapa Returned Soldiers’ Assn. A. E. PRENTICE, Secretary. Masterton 14th August.
