Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from London, dated 31st July:— Frozen meat quotations (prices on a “delivered” basis, i.e., including storage charges, cartage, market tolls, etc.): N.I. Down lambs, 2S/361b5., 7 3-Bd. N.I. Down lambs, 36/42, 6§d. Best N.I. xbd. lambs, 28/36, 7d. Best N.I. xbd. lambs, 36/42, 6fd. N.I. 2nd qual. lambs, av. 30/31, 64d. Best N.I. wether sheep, 5 l-8d to 4d. N.I. ewes, 4f-d to 34d. N.Z. prime ox beef, 160/220, 3 l-Bd. Compared with last week’s quotations, crossbred lambs, 2S/361b5., and 2nd quality lamb, 1-Sd per lb. lower; wethers, u/48, 1-Sd per lb. higher; ewes, 48/721b5., l-8d per lb. higher; beef, l-8d per lb. lower. The lamb market on the spot is weaker, particularly lightweights. The mutton market is steady.
