The captain of Lady Yule’s quarter of a million sterling yacht Nahlin lias, been told that the King has chartered the yacht, which is lying at Southampton, newly painted in cream colour, with a Cambridge blue waterline. Lady Yule, believed to be the richest woman in Britain, removed her personal belongings yesterday. The Nahlin has a crew of fifty, but accommodates only eight guests. It is the biggest and most luxurious yacht afloat and has cruised from New Zealand and the South Seas to Alaska. The Nahlin leaves Southampton tomorrow for Dalmatia. The King and his party are travelling overland, possibly by air, to join the ship.
The duration of the cruise will be three or four weeks, mainly along the Dalmatian coast. DESTROYERS TO ESCORT. SHORE EXCURSIONS PROPOSED. (Received Friday, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, Thursday. Two destroyers will escort the Nahlin which has been chosen because the Royal yacht is too large to enter the small bays which the King is anvious to visit. He will make short excursions at suitable points.
