MINIATURE RIFLES
WAIRARAPA CHAMPIONSHIP. The Wairarapa Miniature Rifle Association held its annual championship meeting in the Crown Theatre, Greytown, on Saturday. Shooters were present from Tanmarunui, Palmerston North, Longburn, Wellington, Petone, and Hutt Valley and all Wairarapa clubs were well represented. The champion shot of the meeting was Mr Tom Pritchard, of Taumarunui, and his success was received with cheers. The runner-up was 11. P. Dore (Wellington), last year’s champion. The arrangements were well carried out under the direction of the association’s capable secretary, Mr C. J. De Lacey, who was very ably assisted by Mr 11. Rolls, and an untiring executive inculding Messrs 11. Morgan, W. Press, Rex Porter, 11. J. Smith, P. Russell, R. A. Copeland, L. G. Rasmussen, R. Jcpson, K. McKenzie, Max Hodder. Messrs C. J. Nix, A. George and P. H. Wilton were scrutineers. The range officer, Mr R. P. Wakelin, who was assisted by executives of the association, carried out his duties very ably and it was to his credit the shooting was got off so expeditiously. The president, Mr W.
