MIGRATION PLAN. DROUGHT IN U.S.A. BISMARCK (North Dakota), Friday. With the nation’s death roll as the result of the. drought estimated at 422, and damage exceeding the 1934 total, Mr Tugwell to-day announced a plan whereby the Government will conduct a vast migration from the stricken areas. For example, thirty per cent of the farm population in the parched area in North Dakota will be shifted to the comparatively fertile Red River Valley. Meanwhile the searing heat continues in the mid-west maize belt.
