MASTERTON SALE
■■ AMALGAMATION OF INTERESTS.
An amalgamation of the Masterton saleyard interests of stock auctioneers has been effected in response to general requests and to suit the convenience of farmers. In future the Masterton sale will be conducted at the Associated Yards, starting at 11 a.m., and the saleyards recently occupied by the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., will be maintained and used, if necessary, for heavy yardings. Hitherto it has been the practice to conduct two sales, one by the Farmers’ Distributing Co., and the other by the remaining firms in conjunction. This often resulted in two different markets on the same day, and in farmers having to wait some time for the second sale to start. Similar arrangements have been effected in other centres. The parties to the amalgamation are Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., F.C.D. Company, Ltd., Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and the W.F.C.A., Ltd.
