TRAGEDY AT DANCE
WELL-KNOWN SETTLER DIES. * AFTER PLAYING MUSIC. A few minutes after lie had finished playing dance music on an accordeon at a farewell social in the Kopuaranga Hall last night, Mr A. B. Cottle, a wellknown Southdown, breeder, of Kopuaranga, walked to an ante-room where he suddenly collapsed and died.
The late Mr Cottle was born at Belmont, Wellington, 65 years ago, had farmed at “Aird,” Kopuaranga district for the past 14 years, and was a successful breeder of Southdown and Romney sheep years and was universally liked and respected. He was an active member of the Masterton A. & P. Society and took a keen and active interest in all social and public functions in the district. He appeared to be in the best of health and spirits right up to the time of Ins death, which it was stated was due to heart failure. He is survived by a widow, three sons, Messrs Roy, Kopuaranga, Frank and Erie, Mt. Bruce, and one daughter, Mrs Nieholl, Mt. Bruce. Widespread sympathy will be extended to the family in their bereavement. The funeral will leave the homestead, Kopuaranga, at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow for the Masterton Cemetery.
