MASTERTON CLUB. CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. The Master-ton Gun Club’s North Island championship meeting will be concluded to-day, when two £SO open handicap matches of 18 clay birds will be fired. The prize money will be divided in the ratio of 60, 25, and 15 per cent. Large entries are assured. A high standard was set yesterday, when the North Island championship was fired. It was a 21-bird match, with the shooters on 28 yards. Spirited competition resulted in a tie for first place between R. E. Cuthbertson, Wanganui, and E. Groome, Otane, Hawke’s Bay. They both shot the possible of 21 birds, and divided first and second money amounting to £26 10s each. In the slioot-off for the championship, Cuthbertson won with four birds, Groome losing two of his four. Third prize money was divided by D. M. Campbell, Hastings, D.. Ewing, Auck’land, and D. P. North, Whangarei. Hr Thirty-nine shooters took part.
