“ POPEYE’S BIRTHDAY”
A COSY ATTRACTION. There was a large gathering of children yesterday morning at the Cosy Theatre, the occasion being that of Popeye the Sailorman’s birthday, which, was arranged by the Cosy Theatre management l in order to form a Popeye Club in . Masterton for the children. Each child who attended the session yesterday morning received a cake of chocolate from Popeye in person. Before the commencement of the special programme, the children all joined in. community singing, which without a doubt put them in a very happy spirit for the rest of the excellent programme. 'Before very long there will be another big children’s day at the theatre. If a child would like to become a member of the Popeye Club, he or she can do so 1 by going to the Cosy Theatre and asking for a membership card.
