“PORTLAND FARMER’S” WIN.

Knocking Pete Meliringer out of the ring with an elbow jolt in the sixth round Bob Kruse, the redoubtable “Portland Farmer,” made hay in his Wellington debut at the Town Hall last night. He disposed of the former American Olympic champion by two falls to one. Kruse, a splendidly-bod-ied, fast-moving wrestler, showed himself a tough proposition. Meliringer wrestled hard and well, and his fall in the fifth round with a swift body tackle and press drew the applause of the crowd. But Kruse gave the impression that he was seldom seriously hustled, and never fully extended.
