A FARMER KILLED

ROAD TRAGEDY. CAR COLLIDES WITH LORRY. BLENHEIM, This Day. Tragedy overtook a party of six Wairau farmers when returning home from attending a funeral in Blenheim. Within two miles of the Wairau Valley township on a straight, wide stretch of the highway the car, which was driven by George Gordon Davidson, collided with a laden timber lorry, with the result that Leslie Hart, married with one child,' was killed instantly, while Davidson is not expected to live. Both received severe head injuries. Four other occupants of the car had marvellous escapes, suffering only from severe shock. The accident occurred just after dark.—(P.A.)
