GOLD BLOC

FRANC UNDER FIRE. LONDON, Saturday. Gold currencies, which, fighting what most people believe is their final battle, have been steadily under fire throughout the week, culminating in a panic flight from francs and guilders. Many Frenchmen have actually brought their savings to England in a suitcase.
