EKETAHUNA SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At our weekly Eketahuna sole on Thursday* we ottered a full yarding, comprising 2700 sheep of all classes, and a faar entry of cattle. The offering attracted a large attendance from local, Manawatu and Wairarapa districts. Keen, bidding resulted for all pens, and competition was strong to the finish of the sale. CARTERTON SALE. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:—We held our weekly sale at Carterton yesterday, when a good yarding was offered to the usual attendance. Only a few sheep were offered, and values were up to late rates. Springers were easier, but fat, forward and store cows were firmer. Weaner pigs sold better than last week, while porkers were, at par rates. The following were the prices:—Sheep: B.F. lambs, 20s 7d, 21s to 21s 6d; w.w. lambs, to 20s; fat b.f. 2-tootbs, to 235; . forward ewes, 17s to 18s 6d. Cattle: Springing Jersey heifers, to £5 2s 6d; heifers just calved, to £5 10s; cows just calved, to £5 ss; fat cows, £3 10s to £4 7s 6d; forward cows, £2 2s 6d to £3 ss; store cows, 25s to 37s 6d; bulls, £3 10s to £5 19s. Pigs: Weaners (good), Ss to 9s 6d; weaners (medium), 6s to 7s 6d; weaners (small), 3s to ss; slips, 11s to 16s; store pigs, 17s 6d to 19s; porkers, 24s to 355.
