Cochrane’s appointment to the Burma Governorship, resulted. Mr T. Cassells (Labour) 20,187 Mr Duffes, K.C. (Conservative) 19,203 Mr R. Gray (Scottish Nationalist) - 2,599 A Labour gain. Sixty-eight per cent of the voters went to the poll. At the. general election the voting was as follow: —Commodore A. D. Cochrane • (Conservative), 24,776; T. Cassells (Labour), 20,679; R. Gray (Scottish Nationalist),; 3841.'
