ENGLAND TO CAPE
ATTACK ON RECORD.
LONDON, Tuesday
Flight-Lieutenant Thomas Rose started from Lympne at 2 a.m. for the Cape in the Miles Falcon aeroplane with which he won the King’s Cup last year. The ’plane is fitted with additional petrol tanks, giving a range of about 1500 miles.
Lieutenant Rose says it is a purely business trip, but he expects to reach Capetown on Friday, and would thus beat Mrs Amy Mollison’s record. Lieutenant Rose says he will seriously attempt a record coming back.
