WIN FOR AUSTRALIA. ENGLAND BEATEN. LONDON, Saturday. Australia defeated England in the three-day tennis match at Eastbourne, played on Davis Cup lines, which.was designed to give the English team practice for the final match of the Davis Cup series. Australia w r on three matches, England one, and the fifth was abandoned owing to rain. The final singles resulted:—
J. H. Crawford (Australia) defeated IT. W.. Austin (England), 6/2, 6/4, 3/6, 6/3. , . F. J. Perry (England) v. V. McGrath (Australia), 2/6, 6/2, 3/1 (match abandoned on account of rain). FRINTON TOURNAMENT. MALFROY WINS FINAL. LONDON, Saturday. In the Frinton tennis tournament final, C. E. Malfroy (New Zealand) defeated Nishimura (Japan), 6/2, 8/6.
