IF WAR COMES!
FAULT OF POLITICIANS MR J. A. LYONS’ BELIEF. Press Association Electric Telegraph—Copyrighv VICTORIA (British Columbia), Friday. "If war comes it will have been caused by' the politicians, not by the people,” said the Prime Minister of Australia, Mr J. A. Lyons, to-day, before leaving en route to San Francisco. ‘ ‘ I am sure war thoughts do not spring from the hearts of the people in any country'. We should take all Government heads once a y r ear to the battlefields of France and let them meditate. While y'ou in Canada have not completed a Great War memorial, neither have we. It is unbelievable that- countries would wish to go to war.” Mr Lyons urged closer friendship and a more equitable scale of trade relations between Candda and Australia. He believed better relations between the Pacific countries would bring a more stable world confidence.
