EKETAHUNA SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: —At the Eketahuna sale we submitted a good entry of dairy cattle to a fair attendance of buyers. Included in the yarding was the entire dairy herd offered on account of Mr W. Kensington, who has disposed of his farm. Competition for the better class of cows and heifers was keen, with prices as follow:—Best springing cows, £4 10s to £6; medium, £3 to £4 ss; best heifers, £4 10s to £5 10s; medium, £3 10s to £4; weaner heifers, 31s. The 28 cows offered on account of IV. Kensington averaged £4 ss. SALE OF HEIFERS. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: —We held our annual sale of 3-year springing heifers on behalf of Messrs Moore Bros., at the Carterton sale yesterday. The heifers came forward in good' condition, and the majority were very forward. There was a good attendance, and the best sorts met with good competition, making up to £6 10s. The majority, however, sold at a figure a good deal lower, and the total sold, viz., 58, averaged £4. Only seven heifers were passed in, these being, later calvers.
