RED STAR CLUB. JUBILEE REUNION. SOME FORMER TEAMS. The following are some former senior teams of the Red Star Club:—■ 1893. Harry Wrigley, the late “Tike” Hudson, Charlie de Joux, George Hansen (one of the best all-round players ever seen in Wairarapa, equally good as a forward or back, who now lives down the Ilutt way), Fred Renall, Jim Cochrane, —. Vennell, Bert Wilsone (captain), the late Joe Morris, the late Jack McKillop, the late Tom Welch, the late Walter Welch, the late F. Kummer, Bill Iggulden, —. Cushion, Walter Remini and C. Robinson. The team won the senior championship. That season H. Wrigley, “Tike” Hudson, C. do Joux, G. Hansen, J. Morris, T. Welch, W. Iggulden and J. McKillop played in the Wairarapa senior representatives.

1894. Harry Wrigley, J. Stafford, C. de Joux, G. Norton, W. Remini, George Hansen, Bert Wilsone (captain), the late Joe Morris, A. Welch, Tom Wrigley, the late J. McKillop, Jack Emmett, —. Pearse, the late F. Kummer, Jim Cochrane, the late , Tom Welch (whose equal as a forward has rarely been seen in Wairarapa), and W. Thompson. In connection with the Wairarapa-Ncw South Wales match, Mr Lionel Casclberg gave a medal for the best back in the Wairarapa team, Avhich was awarded to George Hansen, the Red Star half. Red Star were third in the senior championship, and won the junior championship. That year Hec. Nicolson, nowadays manager of the “Otaki Mail,” played on the wing three-quarter for Carterton seniors. Hec. was not 14 years of ago when he first donned a jersey for the Carterton seniors—a Wairarapa record —and was noted for his sure handling and speed on the football field. He was one of the fastest men ever seen on, a football field in the Wellington province. The junior teams that year were Red Star A and B, Featherston, Kotahitanga, Greytown, Tc Ore Ore and Masterton. In 1894 the Mastcrton seniors contained four members of the New Zealand team which visited Australia in 1893, viz., Sammy Cockroft, A. D’Arcy, W. Watson and R. Gray. In the first match between Red Star and Masterton, the Stars Avon by 6 to 3, and in the second Masterton Avon by 9 to 8.

Percy have worn Wairarapa senior rep. jerseys. That year T. D’Arcy, F. Renall, W. Fcllingham, F. Wellington, R. Cameron and F. A photo in the possession of Mr Ted Braggins (himself one of the original members of the club) shows the 1885 first fifteen of the Stars to be:—Ted Polling, Bob Thompson, Archie D’Arcy, Jake Baumber, A. Hoar, C. Bidding, Fred Gardner, Bob Martin, Alf MeKain, Ted Braggins,. Alf. Gardner, George Nicol, T. Thompson and Fin. Hill; absent, Frank Richards (captain). The photo was apparently taken after the match with the Wellington Stars in 1885, because Frank Richards left after this match to reside in Wellington. THE RUGBY GAME. _ MASTERTON TEAM. Masterton Club players to assemble at Rugby Park at 2 p.m. to-morrow to play Old Boys are as follow: —Wickens, Reid, Wellington (2), Gorringe, Hughes, Chadwick, R. Kenny, McCalmont, Corbett, Spicer, Rutherford, Thompson, Goodhue (2), Carswell, Harrap, Stevens, Anscll, McDonald.
