VALEDICTORY
REV. R. J. LIDDELL. A farewell evening to Rev. R. J. Liddell was held in the Methodist Sunday School hall -last evening. There was a large crowd, the hall being packed to the door. The following items were much appreciated:—Songs, Miss C. Gapper, Mr J. Harris and Mr 11. Jones, Masterton; vocal duet, Miss E. Jones and Mr H. Jones; vocal jhet, ‘Miss Surtees and Miss Vose.
On behalf of the congregation Mr C. Jones presented Rev. Liddell with a handsome chiming clock, and Miss Liddell with a pink satin eiderdown quilt with cushions to match.
Mr Brassel presented Miss Liddell, on behalf of the Sunday School, with an electric reading lamn and Mr W. Vaughan, on behalf of the choir, presented her with a xylonite bedroom table set.
Mr D. King spoke on behalf of the trustees, Mr .T. Preddy on behalf of local-preachers, Mrs Tvler on behalf of the W.C.T.IT., Mrs Ordisli on behalf of the Dnlefield congregation, and Captain Knight on behalf of the Salvation Army. All spoke well of Mr Liddell’s work and wished him every success and good luck in his future work. Mr Liddell suitably replied.
