BODYLINE BOWLING NOTTS PEACE RESOLUTION. Press Association Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received Friday, 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, Thursday. The Nottingham Cricket Club unanimously carried a peace resolution, approving the Advisory Committee’s definition of direct attack., A cable on 21st November last stated; —The M.C.C. Committee has issued a statement in which it says it considers there had been evidence of cases of a bowler deliberately attacking a batsman on various occasions last season. Consequently, in order to remove misunderstanding as to what constitutes a direct attack, and is therefore unfair, the committee" ruled that it consists of persistent and systematic bowling of fast, short-pitched balls at batsmen standing clear of the wicket. The committee is instructing umpires that any action to’ prevent this type of bowling will be strongly supported by the committee. “HANDS ACROSS THE SEA.’’ (Received Friday, 12.20 »p.m.) LONDON, Thursday.
