AUSTRALIAN* DEPOSITS;

PERTH, Wednesday.

A Japanese delegation recently attempted to secure a long lease of extensive iron ore deposits at Yampi Sound, Western Australia, but the State Government rejected its overtures. It has now granted a six months’ reservation- to British interests represented by Sir James Connolly, formerly Agent-General for Western Australia in London, who has given an assurance that the deposits null be tested within that period.
