TIMARU SALE. , RECENT RATES .MAINTAIJ|d. ■ TIMARU, This Day. The second and final Timaru wool sale of the season was held this morning) when an offering of 22,158 bales was submitted. There was a full beneh of buyers, but the values of the first two catalogues did not show any improvement on the rates of recent sales. The wool opened up very dry and discoloured, a large quantity beings yellow, due to the seasonal conditions of a wet spring, followed by phenomenally hot weather, causing sweating. . The wool was also a shade coarser than usual. Super Merino ranged from 9d to 13fd, average Bid; super halfbred, IOJd to llld, average ,Bfd to 9ld; threequarterbred super, 9d, average 8-Jd; crossbred, 9sd to 10fd; Corriedale, 9Jd to 3,o|d; Merino pieces, 8d to 9d; halfbrda pieces, 8d to 93d; tliree-quarter-bsft pieces, 5d to Gd; crossbred pieces, Bd'-to 9-Id; halfbred necks, 8d isjtpld; three-quarterbred necks, Aid to (P.A.) SYDNEY SALES. SYDNEY, Tuesday. At the wool sales to-day, 9518 bales were offered, of\ which 8997 were sold at auction; also 2647 privately. There was keen and widespread comptition from Yorkshire and -Japstm, with better support from the 'emtinent. Greasy Merino sold to 16-Id, while crossbred made tho record price of 151 d. BRADFORD TOPS. , . LONDON, Monday. In the Bradford tops market there is more enquiry for Merino tops. A moderate amount of new business is reported.
