KING’S JUBILEE

PUBLIC HOLIDAY PROCLAIMED. RUGBY, Thursday. The King to-day formally approved a proclamation appointing 6th May, the Silver Jubilee date, as a public holiday. The British Broadcasting Corporation announces that the Jubilee thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s on 6th May will be broadcast to all parts of the Empire.—(British Wireless.)

GIFTS FOR PRIME MINISTERS.

Mr Ramsay MacDonald visited the Industries Fair and purchased half a dozen table cloths, specially made to celebrate the King’s jubilee, and decorated with various Dominion emblems. He is presenting them to Empire Prime Ministers.
