WOOL MARKET
NAPIER SALES.
WELLINGTON PRICES RULE. NAPIER, This Day. Rates, estimated as fully firm upon those ruling last- week in Wellington, were realised at the third Napier wool sale to-day, during the early stages. The catalogue was largely made up of late shorn back-country wools, carrying a heavy degree of condition. Competition was particularly keen at buyers’ limits, and all sections of the trade were in the market, with bidding well distributed.
Passings were not so frequent as at earlier sales, so far as the first two catalogues were concerned. Piece'yamls and scouring sorts were estimatedVas selling at slightly improved rates,Compared with the January Napier sgles, while super and good wools were\fully firm.
Medium and low grade wools eased a shade in some instances. The market for lambs’ variable.—(P.A.) I;
