MILK SUPPLY

TUBERCULIN TESTING. INSPECTOR’S REPORT. Mr T. A. Russell (borough inspector) reported as follows to the meeting of the Borough Council last night:—The usual milk samples were taken for general analysis. I have pleasure in reporting that the tuberculin testing of the town supplying herds is proceeding, seven of the main herds have been tested and are now clear.

‘ ‘ The application to the Department of Agriculture for testing has been voluntary on the part of the farmers concerned', and I am indeed grateful for their co-operation, but trust that before long it will be unlawful to sell milk for human consumption unless the source is safeguarded in every possible way against tuberculosis.”
