"That tobacco, sir,” he said, "is Cut Plug No. 10—New Zealand-grown and manufactured. Every tobacconist sells it. But I’m not surprised you thought it was choice American.” Plus-Fours shut up. Cut Plug No. 10, all smokers know, is one of the live famous toasted brands, the others being: Navy Cut No. 0 (Bulldog), Cavendish, Riverliead Gold and Desert oGld. They’re in everybody’s pipe, and not only equal to finest imported, but considerably cheaper. And they can’t harm even the inveterate smoker—they’re toasted! 398
