BYRD EXPEDITION

BUSY DAYS. AT LITTLE AMERICA. LITTLE AMERICA, Monday. _ The work of removing the expedition’s aeroplanes from the snow and ice hangars is keeping all hands busy. The monoplane Miss America Airways has been hauled out and will be taken on a test flight in a few days preparatory to the spring explorations, which are scheduled to start early in October. The work of releasing the great biplane, which has an 82ft. wing-spread, has started. „ , „ It is estimated that 200 tons of solid ice must be cut away. This will probably require a fortnight’s work.
